Binance Liquidation Price: How It's Calculated and How to Avoid Hitting It
Your liquidation price on Binance moves with leverage, margin mode, and fees together — not leverage alone, which is the part most calculators skip explaining.

Liquidation price is the price at which your remaining margin can no longer cover the position's losses, so the exchange closes it automatically — usually with an extra liquidation fee on top of normal trading fees.
How Binance Handles a Liquidation
a tiered margin/liquidation schedule that partially liquidates large positions in slices rather than closing everything at once, backed by an insurance fund with auto-deleveraging (ADL) as a last resort.

What Actually Moves the Liquidation Price
Higher leverage moves it closer to your entry price. Isolated margin calculates it from the fixed allocation to that position; cross margin calculates it from your whole available balance, which can move the liquidation price further away — until a loss elsewhere in your account eats into that same balance.
Estimating It on Binance Before You Open a Position
Binance provides a built-in calculator on the futures trading screen that estimates margin, liquidation price, and PnL before you submit, so you can see the number before committing real margin rather than discovering it after the fact.
Keeping Distance From It
Set a stop-loss well before the calculated liquidation price, not at it — a stop-loss you control is always better than a liquidation the exchange controls, since the latter usually costs an extra fee and gives you no say in the exit price.
- Recalculate liquidation price after every size or leverage change
- Leave real distance between your stop-loss and the liquidation price
- Remember margin mode changes the calculation entirely
