Bitget Limit Order: Setting Your Price Instead of Chasing It

A limit order on Bitget lets the market come to your price — and on this exchange that usually means a cheaper fee too, not just more control.

What a Limit Order Does

A limit order only fills at your chosen price or better. It can rest on the book for minutes, days, or until you cancel it, instead of executing immediately like a market order.

Limit Orders and the Maker Fee on Bitget

When your limit order rests on the book and someone else's order fills against it, Bitget bills that fill at the maker rate — usually cheaper than the taker rate charged on a market order. BGB holding or fee payment trims the maker rate further.

Time-in-Force Options Worth Knowing

GTC (good-till-cancelled) is the default on most pairs; IOC (immediate-or-cancel) and FOK (fill-or-kill) exist for traders who want to control partial fills. A post-only option, where available, guarantees maker-side treatment by rejecting an order that would otherwise fill immediately.

The Limit-Order Habit Worth Building on Bitget

A newer trader allocating a small test amount to a leaderboard trader before trading futures manually tends to default to limit orders on Bitget specifically because bitget's spot book depth varies a lot by pair — checking the order book depth chart before market-ordering anything outside the top few pairs is worth the extra few seconds.

  • Set the price a touch inside the spread, not chasing the last trade
  • Cancel and replace instead of leaving a stale price resting for days
  • Compare the maker fee saved against the time spent waiting for a fill
