Bybit Limit Order: Setting Your Price Instead of Chasing It
A limit order on Bybit lets the market come to your price — and on this exchange that usually means a cheaper fee too, not just more control.

A limit order only fills at your chosen price or better. It can rest on the book for minutes, days, or until you cancel it, instead of executing immediately like a market order.
Limit Orders and the Maker Fee on Bybit
When your limit order rests on the book and someone else's order fills against it, Bybit bills that fill at the maker rate — usually cheaper than the taker rate charged on a market order. Volume-based VIP tiers still step the maker rate down over time.

Time-in-Force Options Worth Knowing
GTC (good-till-cancelled) is the default on most pairs; IOC (immediate-or-cancel) and FOK (fill-or-kill) exist for traders who want to control partial fills. A post-only option, where available, guarantees maker-side treatment by rejecting an order that would otherwise fill immediately.
Order Types Available on Bybit
Market and limit orders as the core spot tickets, with conditional (stop) orders covering most of what a stop-limit or OCO ticket does elsewhere.
The Limit-Order Habit Worth Building on Bybit
A trader who spends a week on Demo Trading before funding a live futures account tends to default to limit orders on Bybit specifically because bybit's spot book is generally deep on top pairs but thinner than the largest rivals on smaller altcoins, so a market order can slip further there.
- Set the price a touch inside the spread, not chasing the last trade
- Cancel and replace instead of leaving a stale price resting for days
- Compare the maker fee saved against the time spent waiting for a fill
