The Gap Risk Nobody Mentions

If the price jumps straight past both your trigger and your limit price — common during fast news moves — a stop-limit order can trigger and then never fill, leaving you exposed exactly when you wanted protection. A stop-market order avoids that failure mode at the cost of accepting slippage.

Where This Matters Most on Bybit

Bybit's spot book is generally deep on top pairs but thinner than the largest rivals on smaller altcoins, so a market order can slip further there.

Setting a Sensible Gap

Leave enough room between the trigger and limit price that a normal price wiggle doesn't cause a failed fill, but not so much room that the fill price defeats the purpose of the order. Assuming a spot OCO ticket exists in the exact same place as on another exchange, then placing two unlinked orders by mistake is the related mistake to avoid on Bybit.
