HTX Stop-Limit Order: Two Prices, One Ticket
A stop-limit order on HTX needs two prices, not one — and the stop-limit ticket needs a trigger price and a limit price; on older is the part beginners usually miss.

A stop-limit order has a trigger (stop) price that arms the order, and a limit price that the order then tries to fill at once triggered. Between those two events, the order does nothing — it isn't live on the book until the trigger price is touched.
How the Stop-Limit Form Works on HTX
the stop-limit ticket needs a trigger price and a limit price; on older, lower-volume pairs the book can be thinner than the top markets, so leave a wider gap between the two.

The Gap Risk Nobody Mentions
If the price jumps straight past both your trigger and your limit price — common during fast news moves — a stop-limit order can trigger and then never fill, leaving you exposed exactly when you wanted protection. A stop-market order avoids that failure mode at the cost of accepting slippage.
Where This Matters Most on HTX
HTX's top pairs carry solid depth from years of operating history, but older, lower-volume pairs can be noticeably thinner than the top markets.
Setting a Sensible Gap
Leave enough room between the trigger and limit price that a normal price wiggle doesn't cause a failed fill, but not so much room that the fill price defeats the purpose of the order. Registering a brand-new HTX account instead of recovering an old Huobi-era login, and losing carried-over VIP history in the process is the related mistake to avoid on HTX.
- Trigger price set away from normal noise
- Limit price left with a realistic gap from the trigger
- Order checked after major news events, not left unattended indefinitely
