KuCoin Account Deletion: Turn Off Your Bots First

An account with an active bot generally can't be closed cleanly — stop automation before you do anything else on this list.

Reconsider First

If your concern is security rather than truly wanting to leave, tightening 2FA and reviewing sessions is reversible — full closure isn't.

Step 1: Stop All Trading Bots

Pause and fully stop any running trading bot before doing anything else — a bot that's still active can keep placing orders and prevent a clean account closure.

Step 2: Cancel Remaining Orders

Cancel any manual open orders and close open positions once the bots are stopped.

Step 3: Withdraw All Funds

Withdraw every remaining balance to a wallet you control, confirming the correct network for each token.

Step 4: Resolve Pending Reviews

An open support ticket or pending verification review can block closure — resolve these before submitting a request.

Step 5: Submit the Closure Request

Use the closure option in settings if available, or contact support directly if it isn't visible.

Data and Reopening

Some records are typically retained for a regulatory-defined period after closure, and re-registration policies can vary — don't assume an immediate fresh signup will be possible.

Don't Forget Any Scheduled Bot Restarts

Some bot configurations include automatic restart or rebalancing schedules. Double-check there's nothing set to trigger again after you think you've stopped it — a bot that reactivates itself is a common reason a closure request unexpectedly fails a day later.

Deleting the bot configuration entirely, rather than just pausing it, is the safer way to make sure nothing restarts on a schedule you forgot about.

Give it a day between deleting the last bot and submitting the closure request, just to confirm nothing you missed fires off one more scheduled action in the meantime.
