OKX Account Settings: Security Menu Walkthrough

OKX's security menu includes anti-phishing code and withdrawal whitelist for the exchange account, which matters more here than on a generic exchange checklist.

Create the Account First

New users: register via https://okx.com/join/7051831 (code 7051831), then open profile → security before doing anything else.

Must-Enable Options

Authenticator-based 2FA, withdrawal confirmation by email or SMS, and device management all belong on from day one.

  • Authenticator app 2FA
  • Withdrawal whitelist
  • Login alerts
  • API key restrictions

The OKX-Specific Setting Worth Extra Attention

Anti-phishing code and withdrawal whitelist for the exchange account, plus a completely separate seed-phrase backup step for the Web3 wallet — set this up before you rely on it under pressure, not during an incident.

Preferences

Set your display currency, theme, and language. Keep security emails on even if you disable marketing emails.

API Keys

Only create API keys if you actually run a bot or use OKX's Unified Trading Account (UTA). Restrict IPs and disable withdrawal permission on the key.

Review Monthly

Check the device list and API key list on OKX once a month — remove anything you no longer recognize.

What Makes OKX Different Day to Day

OKX's bigger differentiator is the Unified Trading Account and Web3 Wallet — most people never look past the signup flow to notice it.

Layer that on top of the OKX Web3 Wallet, and the cost picture on OKX looks different from a generic exchange checklist.

OKX Jumpstart token launches and published on-chain proof-of-reserves data round out the product, but none of it replaces reading the live fee schedule before you size a trade.

  • Watch for: moving funds between the unified trading account and the Web3 wallet and forgetting that the wallet side has no exchange-side recovery
  • Also watch for: assuming a healthy-looking position is safe when unified cross-margin can draw down balance across several products at once
  • Security basics still apply: 2FA, anti-phishing code and withdrawal whitelist for the exchange account, plus a completely separate seed-phrase backup step for the Web3 wallet
