What Actually Moves the Liquidation Price

Higher leverage moves it closer to your entry price. Isolated margin calculates it from the fixed allocation to that position; cross margin calculates it from your whole available balance, which can move the liquidation price further away — until a loss elsewhere in your account eats into that same balance.

Keeping Distance From It

Set a stop-loss well before the calculated liquidation price, not at it — a stop-loss you control is always better than a liquidation the exchange controls, since the latter usually costs an extra fee and gives you no say in the exit price.
