Maker fees at zero percent mean you pay nothing when your limit order rests on the book and gets filled. This benefits grid traders, market makers, and anyone using post-only limit orders. Taker fees still apply when you cross the spread with market orders.

Some exchanges advertise zero maker fees only above certain VIP levels or during promotions. Crypto.com, LBank SVIP, Phemex Star VIP, and Bitfinex are examples where published schedules include zero maker tiers. Conditions vary — check each exchange page for volume requirements.

A zero maker fee does not guarantee the lowest total trading cost. If you primarily use market orders, taker fee comparison matters more. Use our spot and futures hub pages for complete side-by-side rankings.
